Eine Frau singt mit leicht kratzender Stimme, dazu treibende Beats, Synthesizer, Streicher, Gitarren &#8211; das einzige Wort aus dem Text, das auf Anhieb zu verstehen ist, ist &#8220;Flashlights&#8221;. Keine Ahnung, welche Band das ist. Und der freundliche Mitarbeiter hat tats\u00e4chlich noch genau ein Album da (&#8220;die gehen heute weg wie warme Semmeln&#8221;). In der Rubrik &#8220;Musik des Tages&#8221; heue:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>R\u00f6yksopp<\/em>: What Else is There<\/p>\n<p>Triphop hei\u00dft das Genre f\u00fcr diese mal fr\u00f6hliche, mal mystische elektronische Musik. Ambient und Chill f\u00e4llt mir dazu ein &#8211; so w\u00fcrde ich es nennen, aber ich habe ja keine Ahnung. Sp\u00e4testens zum Bandnamen, da f\u00e4llt wohl auch den Experten kaum noch etwas ein. Vielleicht denkt man unwillw\u00fcrlich an Roy Black und w\u00fcnscht sich dann mit Schaudern schnell andere Gedanken. R\u00f6yksopp ist ein normegisches Wort bezeichnet wohl einen seltenen Pilz.<\/p>\n<p>Hinter dem Namen stecken zwei Jungs, die &#8211; so will es die Legende &#8211; schon in der Schule mit Keyboards, Samplern und Computern Musik gemacht haben, w\u00e4hrend der Rest der Schule auf Gitarren und Schlagzeuge eindrosch. \u00dcber Independent-Labels verkauften sie schlie\u00dflich \u00fcber 750.000 St\u00fcck ihres ersten Albums, waren unter anderem mit Moby auf Tour und steuerten f\u00fcr das Betriebssystem MacOS 10.3 (Jaguar) den Erkennungssound bei.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What Else is There&#8221; klingt so, als w\u00fcrde man sowieso nie ganz dahinter kommen, worum es eigentlich geht. Und auch die Musik klingt auf faszinierende Art vertraut und geheimnisvoll zugleich, melodisch und neuartig. Das gilt f\u00fcr das gesamte Album &#8220;The Understanding&#8221;, dem &#8220;What Else is There&#8221; als Single entnommen wurde.
