Nur ganz selten sto\u00dfen Arch\u00e4ologen auf Relikte aus der Vor-Internet-Zeit, weil Speichermedien von anno-digital inzwischen zerbr\u00f6selt sind oder es schlicht und einfach keine Leseger\u00e4te mehr daf\u00fcr gibt. Um so gr\u00f6\u00dfer war die \u00dcberraschung, als irgendwelche Freaks alte Speicherb\u00e4nder aus den USA analysierten. Sie fanden nach eigenen Angaben das Ur-Smiley bzw. den Ur-Smiley. Er erblickte das vermutlich fahle Licht gr\u00fcnstichiger, flimmernder Monochrom-Monitore heute vor 24 Jahren, am 19. September 1982 um 11:44 Uhr.<\/p>\n<p>Es war diese Zeichenfolge: :-)<\/p>\n<p>In einem Computer-Forum gab es eine Diskussion, die mit der Frage eingel\u00e4utet wurde, was mit Kerzen und Quecksilber in einem Fahrstuhl passiert. Im Laufe der Debatte war es dann Scott E. Fahlman von der Carnegie Mellon Universit\u00e4t in Pittsburgh, der vorschlug, nicht ganz ernst gemeinte Beitr\u00e4ge zu kennzeichnen. Mal abgesehen davon, dass der gute Mann einen bemerkenswerten Vornamen hat (man m\u00e4chte ja fast augenblicklich Beam me up, Scotty rufen), arbeitet er immer noch als Computerwissenschaftler an der Hochschule, ist durch seinen Geniestreich aber nicht stinkreich geworden. Er h\u00e4tte vielleicht zun\u00e4chst ein Copyright-Smiley entwickeln sollen.
