Im Februar haben wir ihn in der Berliner Philharmonie in Haydns Sch\u00f6pfung geh\u00f6rt. Sir Simon Rattle stand am Pult \u2013 und selbst ganz hinten, oben, unterm Dach war jedes einzelne Wort zu verstehen.<br \/>\nJetzt also das Jazz-Album, produziert von Till Br\u00f6nner. Sensationell. Da kann man tats\u00e4chlich sehen, was passiert, wenn Thomas Quasthoff jazzt und dazu das Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester aufspielt: Ich bekomme eine G\u00e4nsehaut, weil die CD swingt, jazzt, rockt, knallt, kracht und schmeichelt. Stimme und Instrumente jederzeit in der zueinander passenden Intensit\u00e4t, aufeinander abgestimmt, emotional arrangiert und mit jeder Menge Fachleuten f\u00fcr gute Musik eingespielt.<br \/>\nDas geht beim Er\u00f6ffnungssong, Gershwins \u201eThere&#8217;s A Boat That&#8217;s Leavin&#8217; Soon For New York\u201c, los, hat bei Stevie Wonders \u201eYou And I\u201c einen der vielen H\u00f6hepunkte und h\u00f6rt eigentlich erst nach gut 53 Minuten auf, wenn der letzte Akkord von \u201eEins Und Eins, Das Macht Zwei\u201c verklingt<br \/>\nEs sind zumeist Swing- und Jazz-Klassiker, die Quasthoff singt: von Ellington, Rodgers &#038; Hart, Legrand und anderen. Arrangiert haben diese Songs Alan Broadbent und Nan Schwartz.<br \/>\nBig-Band-Sound mit dem Beweis, dass man nicht immer blo\u00df Klassik singen muss, nur weil man das ganz gut kann.
