Heute vor 24 Jahren, am 2. August 1984, kam zum ersten Mal eine <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xlink.de\/xlink\/geschichte\/meilensteine\/meilenstein15.html\" title=\"Kopie der ersten E-Mail in Deutschland\">E-Mail aus \u00dcbersee in Deutschland<\/a> an. Sie ging an das Mail-Postfach &#8220;zorn@germany&#8221;, eine speziell f\u00fcr Deutschland doch recht brachial anmutende Adresse. Allerdings ist der Hintergrund in diesem Fall ein vollkommen harmloser gewesen. Besitzer des Postfachs war Werner Zorn, Dozent an der Uni Karlsruhe. Heute ist er Professor.<\/p>\n<p>Und was stand drin? Irgendwas zur Vergr\u00f6\u00dferung von Geschlechtsteilen? Angebote von Casinos in zwielichtigen Inselstaaten? Offerten f\u00fcr angeblich ganz legale bunte Pillen f\u00fcr dieses und gegen jenes? Nein! Der Betreff der Mail war &#8220;Wilkomen in CSNET&#8221;. Es war sozusagen eine Begr\u00fc\u00dfungsmail, weil Herr Zorn nun Mitglied im Rechnernetzwerk CSNET war.<\/p>\n<p>Lange ist&#8217;s her: Das World-Wide-Web gab es noch nicht, das entwickelte sich erst ab 1993. Selbst die heutigen Top-Level-Domains wie &#8220;.de&#8221; oder &#8220;.net&#8221; waren noch nicht gebr\u00e4uchlich, das Internet war noch ein kleiner \u00fcberschaubarer Haufen.<\/p>\n<p>Die erste E-Mail \u00fcberhaupt ist freilich noch vieeeel \u00e4lter: Irgendwann Ende 1971 wird sie wohl verschickt worden sein. Daran kann sich der Erfinder <a href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ray_Tomlinson\" title=\"Wikipedia-Artikel \u00fcber Ray Tomlinson\">Ray Tomlinson<\/a> aber nicht mehr genau erinnern. Auch nicht daran, was denn drinstand in der elektronischen Botschaft. 37 Jahre sp\u00e4ter kann man das nur vermuten. Wahrscheinlich ist &#8220;QWERTYUIOP&#8221;, das sind die Buchstaben in der obersten Reihe auf einer US-amerikanischen Computertastatur.\u00a0 Und das ist ja in etwa so aussagekr\u00e4ftig wie 99 Prozent der Mails, die man heutzutage bekommt.
