Seine Jazz-Nummern sind unglaublich gut und funkig. Herr Landgren hat es geschafft, seine zeitlos gute Musik mit der ebenso zeitlos guten aber aus einem vollkommen anderen Bereich stammenden Musik von Abba zu kombinieren. &#8220;Funky Abba&#8221; hei\u00dft das Album, auf dem auch der deutsche Trompeter Till Br\u00f6ner ein Gastspiel gibt. Heute:<\/strong>  <em>Nils Landgren<\/em>: Knowing me, knowing you Die rote Posaune, dazu die groovende &#8220;Funk Unit&#8221;, Landgrens Band, die Melodien von Abba, dann noch ein paar Musikerfreunde. Das alles zusammen vier Tage lang in Stockholm in einem Studio einsperren. Und zwar nicht in irgendeiner Kaschemme, sondern im &#8220;Polar Studio A&#8221; &#8211; genau dort haben Abba ihre Songs produziert.  Die Musik, die vor rund drei Jahren bei der Session mit Blechbl\u00e4sern, Bass, Sprechgesang, Keyboards, Saxophonen und Schlagzeug herausgekommen ist, geht richtig nach vorn: Mal treibend, fordernd, raffiniert (&#8220;Voulez-vous&#8221;), mal l\u00e4ssig, leicht (&#8220;Thank you for the music&#8221;). Eine wirklich funkige Mischung aus anspruchsvollem, zeitgem\u00e4\u00dfem Cover und eigenen Arrangements, die manchmal an klassischen Big-Band-Sound und dann wieder an jazzige Jam- oder Blues-Sessions erinnert. Typisch f\u00fcr das ganze Album ist &#8220;Knowing me, knowing you&#8221;, bei dem auch Till Br\u00f6nner mit reinhaut. Nach ersten Zweifeln, fand die Idee auch Benny Andersson, einer der Abba-Papas sozusagen, gut.
